Policies
Three things you are entitled to know before you hand anyone money or personal details: what happens to your information, what happens if you cancel, and where this work stops.
The short version
Your details go to Nettie and nobody else. There is no mailing list and no tracking. Give [48 hours'] notice to cancel and nothing is owed. This is a complementary wellbeing practice, not healthcare, and it is never a reason to change anything about your medical treatment.
Privacy
What gets collected
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, which option you picked, and your message. Nothing else. There is no account to create and no profile built about you.
The free resources page collects nothing at all. The writing pad there runs entirely inside your browser — what you type is never transmitted, and closing the tab erases it.
What it is used for
Replying to you. That is the whole list. Your email address is not added to any mailing list, because there isn't one. You will never receive a marketing message, a newsletter, or an automated follow-up sequence from this site.
Who else sees it
Nobody. Your details are not sold, shared, rented, or passed to any third party for any purpose. [If you use a form service such as Formspree, or a booking system such as Calendly, name it here — those companies do technically process the message on its way to you, and people are entitled to know which ones.]
Session notes
[Describe here whether you keep written notes after a session, whether they are on paper or a computer, how long you keep them, and whether they are locked or password-protected. This is the question people worry about most and almost no practitioner answers it.]
Nothing you say in a session is used as an example, a case study, or a social media post — even anonymised — without asking you first, in writing, and getting a yes.
Tracking
This website has no analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies for tracking, and no third-party scripts that watch what you do. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request for the font file. Nothing else about your visit is recorded anywhere.
A small amount of information is kept in your own browser so the site behaves sensibly: your theme choice, the music volume, whether you dismissed the bar at the bottom, and any ticks on the practitioner checklist. That information never leaves your device and is not visible to anyone, including me.
Your rights over your information
You can ask at any time what I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. There is no form and no fee — just email and say so, and I will confirm when it is done. Depending on where you live, you may have these rights in law; you have them here regardless.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Changing or cancelling
[Give at least 48 hours' notice and there is nothing to pay — describe your actual notice period here.] Life happens, and a session you attend resentfully because you felt locked in is worth nothing to either of us.
Short notice
[Describe what happens inside the notice window: whether a deposit is retained, whether the session can be moved once, and whether there are exceptions for illness, bereavement, or emergencies. Be specific — vagueness here is what generates awkward conversations later.]
If I have to cancel
You will be offered the first available alternative, and anything you have paid is refunded in full if you would rather not rebook. That is unconditional and does not depend on notice.
Lateness
[Describe what happens if someone arrives late — whether the session runs to the original end time, and how much lateness means it has to be rescheduled.]
Refunds
This work carries no guaranteed outcome, and a session that did not do much for you is a normal result rather than a fault — so completed sessions are not generally refundable. [Describe any exceptions you want to offer.] If something went genuinely wrong, tell me, because I would rather know.
Scope of practice
What I am
A shamanic healer offering a complementary wellbeing practice. [List your training, lineage, certifications, insurance and any professional body membership here, exactly as you want them printed.]
What I am not
I am not a doctor, a nurse, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a psychotherapist, a counsellor, or any kind of licensed healthcare professional. I do not hold a clinical qualification, and nothing offered here is regulated healthcare.
What this work does not do
- It does not diagnose anything, physical or psychological.
- It does not treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
- It does not replace medical or mental-health care, and it is not an alternative to either.
- It does not come with a guaranteed outcome of any kind.
Medication and treatment
Never start, stop, reduce, or change any medication because of something that happened in a session or anything I said. I am not qualified to advise on that and I will not try. If anything I say seems to point that way, assume you misheard me and ask your prescriber.
When I will turn work away
I will decline a booking, or ask you to speak to a clinician first, if you are in crisis, currently experiencing psychosis, mania or significant dissociation, or if you have been pushed into coming by someone else. You can check where you stand using the five questions on the home page.
What I will never do
- Tell you that you are cursed, hexed, or attached to something, in order to sell you a remedy.
- Manufacture urgency about booking again.
- Suggest a spiritual cause for a symptom that sounds clinical.
- Discourage you from seeing your doctor or therapist.
You are welcome to hold me to that, and the checklist on the free resources page exists so you can hold anyone else to it too.
Emergencies
Nothing here is monitored for emergencies. The contact form is checked [within one working day] and may not be seen sooner. If you need help urgently, use the crisis lines, and if someone is in immediate danger call your local emergency number.
Still want to ask something?
Questions about any of this are welcome, and asking them costs nothing.
